Caring for a person can often be an emotionally and physically difficult and exhausting task. Family caregivers need to take a break every now and then so they can attend to their own needs. At this seminar hosted by the Caregiver Resource Center of Austin Groups for the Elderly (AGE), family caregivers will hear from a panel of experts who will discuss options for short term respite care including hiring in-home help, using faith-based daytime respite programs, discovering the magic of adult day care, and using residential, short-term stay facilities.
Please join us for this FREE educational seminar from 10am until noon on Saturday, March 12. This seminar will take place in the historic AGE building at 3710 Cedar Street, which is just north of the UT campus. I expect that seminar will be very popular and seating space is limite! d so please RSVP as soon as possible by email to Bruce Kravitz at bkravitz@ageofaustin.org or by phone to Bruce at (512) 451-4611, extension 236. AGE will also provide free respite care at our Elderhaven Adult Day Center in the same building. If you need respite care for a loved one, please contact Katy Bigge at 458-6305 no later than March 9 to arrange for this service.
Please plan to arrive at least 15 minutes early so you will have plenty of time to find a free parking spot. We do have a small fenced in parking lot on the west side of the building but it will fill up fast so you may have to find a free parking spot on the streets surrounding the AGE building.
