East Riverside Corridor: Bringing the Vision to Life
The City of Austin needs your help to bring the East Riverside Corridor Master Plan Vision to Life. The Master Plan envisions how the East Riverside Corridor (from I-35 to Hwy 71) will transform over time to become a walkable, vibrant, transit-oriented, and attractive area that provides housing options for people with a range of incomes and provides a great place to live, work and shop for long-time residents and newcomers alike.
The trend is clear: More development will be coming to the East Riverside Corridor (ERC) over the next 20 years. The City is now creating zoning and design regulations which will become the new rules to guide public and private development projects in the ERC. These changes are relevant to property owners, residents and businesses. The City wants your help in shaping important elements of these new regulations to help ensure that new development projects are well-designed and contribute to the East Riverside Corridor Vision. Optional lunch conversation 12-1 pm. View flyer and poster for more information. Materials available for review at the Ruiz Branch Library, 1600 Grove Boulevard. At this Workshop we will seek your input on:
· where to encourage new development
· how tall and concentrated new development should be
· how to guide the new development to contribute to the Master Plan Vision
· how to best promote well-balanced development between new projects and existing neighborhoods
The City will host a follow-up Public Review Forum on Thursday, March 10, 2011, 6:00 pm – 8:30 pm to review the recommendations and input from the Feb. 26th workshop. At this Forum City staff will:
· present a recommended approach to specific elements of the new ERC development regulations
· answer questions
· gather public comment
Both meetings will be held at the Parker Lane United Methodist Church (2105 Parker Lane)
Light Refreshments will be provided.
Bus Routes nearby: 7, 300, 320, 331.
