The program will focus on understanding how people with mental illness end up in the wrong systems - jails and prisons. Many of you have asked what is being done to change the way we treat the mentally ill and if there are people trained to understand the psychological distress for them and for others. Another question that we hope to answer is how we separate a crime from the illness, while holding the individual accountable. Our mission as a foundation is to provide the education and our goal is to eliminate the stigma. With your attendance, we will be well on our way to accomplishing our agenda.

Our food bank, Austin Area Food bank, is low on staples so this time we are asking that you bring one can or staples that we can help add to the shelves of the pantry. For those of you who have joined the cause on Facebook, we have a surprise for you, as you know our goal is to recruit 451 family, friends and people of interest by April 15, 2011.
