The Feria Para Aprender (The Learning Fair) is approaching its fifth year as the nation’s largest Hispanic education and college-readiness event aimed at helping Spanish-speaking parents become key leaders of their children’s academic success.
The Feria is NOT an ordinary community or college fair. It is designed with specific strategies and goals and an event training curriculum to help a community scale its educational infrastructure to meet population changes and the workforce demands in each region.
There are 3 goals with the Feria Para Aprender (The Learning Fair):
1. Organize Spanish-only speaking parents with the information for their student’s academic success and create a long-lasting college-going culture.
2. Mobilize the non-profit educational organizations to be ready to serve 21st century communities facing major demographic changes.
3. Develop a bilingually educated workforce that provides the region with a global competitive advantage.
The Feria accomplishes systemic changes in communities that address:
• Parental Involvement
• Education Capacity Building
• College Readiness
• Cost-Effective Scalability
• Economic Development
