This series of Affordable Housing Forums explores the intersection between housing and other vital factors contributing to Austin's quality of life.
The series will examine questions such as:
* How does affordable housing fit into the larger picture of Austin's vital public services?
* How can our limited subsidies be spent to maximize the benefits for Austin's low- and moderate-income populations?
* What do we prioritize as key components of affordable housing policies and planning as we continue with Austin's Comprehensive Planning process?
Forum No. 3: Linking Community Investments: Affordable Housing and Transportation
The third forum of the series will investigate the ways that affordable housing and transportation affect one another. A panel will speak to the multitude of benefits that result from coordinating housing and transportation planning efforts. How can we provide housing that connects to diverse modes of transportation, including main transit corridors, bike corridors, public bus lines, and accessible sidewalks?
