SafePlace Celebration Luncheon with Special Guest Dan Rather

On Friday, October 19th, Mr. Rather will revisit his 1981 segment that aired on 60 Minutes, which reported on the building of the Center for Battered Women’s shelter.  This shelter was the first in the nation specifically designed for battered women and their children, and later merged with the Austin Rape Crisis Center to form SafePlace.

Celebration is an annual fundraising event that brings the community together to learn about hope, survival, making a difference and to celebrate the lives of those who have survived sexual abuse, rape and domestic violence.
