Kristen Marstaller, Fine Arts Instructional Coordinator, AISD, will announce the details of a newly implemented Request for Proposals to solicit community artists and arts organizations to become approved vendors for the Austin Independent School District. This new system will replace the one-year agreements issued in the past with three-year agreements for successful applicants. While being on the list does not guarantee work, it will be a new requirement for all artists and arts organizations working in schools. www.austinisdfinearts.org

Brent Hasty, mindPOP Executive Director, will share information about The Kennedy Center Any Given Child Initiative, a partnership among the AISD, City of Austin, and the arts community. In August 2011, The Kennedy Center announced Austin as the 7th city to be selected to participate in creating a long-range arts education plan for students in grades K-8.
