Recovery Oriented Systems of Care Speaker's Bureau TrainingAs many of us have been waiting for, there is finally a call to action! Many of you might be aware that over the past few months, we have been working on developing a Speaker's Bureau to begin introducing the ROSC principles to the Austin Community. Well the time has come and now we are calling for volunteers.
The Speaker's Bureau will be on the forefront of educating the community about the ROSC initiative and focus on the change from acute care to chronic. In doing so, we want to approach the community in a way that can help them understand the changes needed for long term recovery as well as how they can help in this paradigm shift.
As a member of the Speaker's Bureau, each volunteer will work to present this information to target audiences throughout the year to ensure that we reach as many individuals as we can. Being a volunteer, we ask that you commit to making a few presentations this year to help us launch this exciting initiative. Now I know a number of you may still be learning about what ROSC is and may not feel too comfortable just yet in making a presentation. Well that is okay. The purpose of the training is to assist you in becoming more familiar and more comfortable with the ROSC initiative. There is a place for everyone.
Our initial phase will start to only by focusing on our current agencies and staff. This will be a practice for us and want to work to be sure everyone is comfortable with the information and presentation. The training will include learning and practicing the presentation, some role play and feedback, engaging the staff and agency, and an opportunity for discussion.
As we move forward, we will expand the circle of agencies and begin to reaching out to our affiliated agencies in the coming months, but first we want to make sure our own staff and agencies are aware of what we are doing and start to get them on board.
The first training is scheduled for February 1st from 2pm to 5 pm at Communities for Recovery on the ASH Campus. If you are wanting to join the Speaker's Bureau, please contact me directly at Raul.email@example.com to let me know that you will be attending. If have any additional questions you can reach by phone at the number below.
Thank you very much and look forward to seeing you there,
