Healthy Texas Babies is an initiative to help Texas communities decrease infant mortality using evidence-based interventions. It involves all the stakeholders in infant mortality: Insurance companies, healthcare providers, community members. The goal is a decrease in preterm birth by 8% over 2 years. This will help us save about $7.2 million in Medicaid costs to the state in just 2 years. The initiative has the support of many state organizations and is supported in part by Exceptional Item funding from the legislature. / Bebés Tejanos Sanos es un proyecto para ayudadar a las comunidades Tejanas a reducir la mortalidad in-fantil utilizando intervenciones basadas en evidencias. Esto involucra a todos los grupos interesados en la mortalidad infantil: Compañías de seguros, proveedores de la salud, miembros de la comunidad. La meta es la disminución de los partos prematuros por un 8% en solamente 2 años. Esto nos ayudará a ahorrar aproximadadmente $7.2 millones de dólares en gastos de Medicaid al estado en sólo 2 años. El proyecto cuenta con el apoyo de muchas organizaciones del estado y es respaldado económicamente en parte por fondos Excepcionales de la legislatura.
This FREE program will provide 3.5 DSHS-certified continuing education hours for promotores and community health workers. It is targeted towards community health workers, promotores, community organizations, health centers and anyone interested in learning more about infant mortality. / Este taller proveerá 3.5 horas de educación continua certificadas por el DSHS para promotores de salud. Este programa está dirigido a los promotores de salud, organizaciones comunitarias, centros de salud y otros que estén interesados en aprender más sobre la mortalidad infantil en su área.
