Please join us for a special webinar on Mental Health First Aid, on Wednesday, July 27 from 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. (CST) that will explore strategies and field questions from participants about behavioral health issues and ways to recognize signs and symptoms. Mental Health First Aid is a national program designed to teach the general public key skills to help someone developing a mental health problem or alleviate a crisis situation.
Since Integral Care introduced Mental Health First Aid training in 2009, more than 200 people have been certified, including a variety of key professionals and members of the community such as: school personnel, educators, nurses, primary care professionals, emergency department social workers, security personnel, City of Austin library staff, behavioral health providers, supportive housing personnel, volunteers and the general public.
This webinar will review Mental Health First Aid basics and provide an overview of the program. Just as CPR and first aid are intended to help an injured person before proper medical treatment can be provided and are performed by a non-medical professional, Mental Health First Aid is designed to teach the public key skills to help someone developing a mental health problem or crisis.
Registration is limited to 100 participants and the session is filling up rapidly. Click below to register!
Mental Health First Aid was first introduced in the United States by the National Council for Community Behavioral Healthcare in partnership with the Maryland Department of Health and Mental Hygiene and the Missouri Department of Mental Health.
Integral Care is hosting this webinar as part of a summer-long community awareness campaign. This month's focus is on prevention and wellness initiatives taking place within the organization. For more information, click here.
