Austin Travis County Integral Care is proud to invite you for its first webinar, Crisis Chat: Providing Emotional Support in an Online Environment. Join us on Wednesday, July 13 from 3-4 PM (CST) to learn about Integral Care's new online service. Crisis Chat is an online tool that uses the popular technology to provide emotional support to individuals who may be uncomfortable accessing traditional face-to-face or telephone hotline services.

This is the first national pilot built specifically to help Individuals going through a difficult time or dealing with depression, relationship problems, or thoughts of hurting themselves can chat with a licensed specialist online and receive compassionate, non-judgmental listening and referrals to local resources.

This webinar will introduce participants to Crisis Chat and how it also provides information and self-guided tools. You'll also learn how Crisis Chat is currently being used, the challenges and successes experienced by community centers participating in the pilot, and about next steps. A question and answer session will follow.

This webinar will be led by Laura Slocum, LPC, who works at Integral Care's Psychiatric Emergency Services walk-in clinic and Crisis Hotline. At the end of this webinar, participants will be able to:

1) Define online emotional support and discuss the rationale for providing such a service;

2) Inform others how to access Crisis Chat and its services; and

3) Discuss the importance of promoting and growing the pilot to reach many other communities across the country.
