Given changes at the federal and state levels in terms of public school pre-k, child care, and Head Start, the 2011 Texas Early Childhood Leadership Summit will bring together leaders from across the state, as well as national experts to discuss pressing issues in education for young children ages birth to five.
When: Kick-off reception on the evening of July 12, 2011; full day sessions on July 13-14, 2011; half day sessions on July 15, 2011
Where: The Austin Convention Center, in downtown Austin, Texas
The 2011 Texas Early Childhood Leadership Summit will bring together early childhood leaders from different sectors (public school, Head Start, community-based settings, and child care) to discuss innovations in early childhood policy and practice. The 2011 Summit will feature multiple tracks for specific audiences, including: 1) trainer/coaches; 2) early childhood administrators (community-based, non-profit, public school superintendents, school board members, child care directors, Head Start directors, and others); 3) early childhood teachers (based upon experience level); and 4) parents.
Featuring: Dr. Jean Feldman, leaders from the McCormick Center for Early Childhood Leadership, specialists from the Center for Advanced Study of Teaching and Learning at the University of Virginia, and experts from ZERO TO THREE.
The 2011 Texas Early Childhood Leadership Summit is a collaboration between the Children\'s Learning Institute at the University of Texas Health Science Center, the Texas Early Childhood Education Coalition, and the Texas Education Agency.
