ZERO TO THREE’s Coming Together Around Military Families ® Duty to Care II: Honoring the Healer
With the high operational tempo of our nation’s military, those who support military families and their youngest children are finding their work tempo has also increased. This one-day interactive workshop will explore the impact an emotionally intensive work environment has on the helping professional's ability to fully address those needs while simultaneously engaging in strategies for self-care and, professional's resiliency.
Military and civilian family support, mental health, child care, or health professionals working with active duty Service, National Guard, and Reserve families are invited to attend.
Topics include:
Recognizing the impact of stress in young children and how it carries over to the service professional; Discussing self-care options and ways to increase professional resiliency;
Guiding professionals in recognizing and understanding the connection between professional care and resiliency and their capacity to fully address the needs of military families and their young children; and
Exploring how the additional layers surrounding complicated deployments, trauma, injury, and bereavement can place the helping professional at risk for compassion fatigue, secondary trauma, and/or burnout.
This training is free. This one-day training is available at no cost to participants and is sponsored by the Department of Defense. All participants will be offered:
Breakfast and lunch served on the day of training
ZERO TO THREE certificate of attendance 6.5 Continuing Education Credit Hours
