Speaker for May 31, Tuesday 11:30 a.m. Austin-Travis County Suicide Prevention Coalition Meeting is:

Jennifer Haussler Garing, MS,Epidemiologist II/YRBS Coordinator for the Texas Department of State Health Services. She will give a presentation on the Youth Risk Behavioral Surveillance System (YRBSS), which monitors priority health-risk behaviors among youth and young adults. The YRBSS includes a national school-based survey conducted by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and state, territorial, tribal, and district surveys conducted by state, territorial, and local education and health agencies and tribal governments. The survey includes questions about depression, bullying, suicidal ideation, and suicide attempts.
