The Texas Children's Mental Health Forum will be addressing Obesity and Children\'s Mental Health. We're excited to have Janie Black, M.Ed., Michele Pierson, LMSW, and Yesenia Marroquin from the Texas Center for the Prevention and Treatment of Childhood Obesity at Dell Children's Medical Center join us to provide a clinical perspective, and Lauren Dimitry, a member of AISD's School Health Advisory Council (SHAC), will also join us to talk about SHACs as a potential strategy the state and communities can use to address both student and obesity and mental health issues. As time permits, we'll also review legislative bills related to children's mental health and childhood obesity.

The meeting will be held on Tuesday, April 19th, 9:00-11:30AM at the Hogg Foundation for Mental Health on Lake Austin Blvd. As always, Forum meetings are open to all interested stakeholders. To help with planning purposes, RSVPs (jsaxton@txchildren.org) are appreciated!
