Join Texas suicide prevention advocates, survivors and professionals for the Texas Suicide Prevention Symposium, Thursday, June 16, 2011, in San Marcos.
National experts Thomas Joiner, Craig Bryan, Scott Poland, Alex Crosby, Christopher Gandin Le and Thomas Ellis will be featured. Topics include why people die by suicide, myths, suicide risk assessment with military personnel, best practices and lessons learned, CDC’s strategic direction in self-directed violence - a focus on connectedness, saving lives through social networking, and recent advances in theory, research and practice. Registration is free and limited to 700.
