Aging Services Council Current Members
| Accountable Aging Care Management – Accountable Aging Care Management specializes in helping families navigate the maze of eldercare options in Austin, Dallas, and San Antonio by providing a unique combination of elder care consulting and care management. When a family doesn’t know where to start with elder care options, they start with us. We provide an objective, third-party perspective on the resources available through community organizations and through paid service providers. We act as a single point of contact for the care providers, elder and family. It just makes it easier for everyone. |

We provide services for those persons age 60 years of age or older, their caregivers, and those persons 60 years of age or older who are raising relative children under the age of 18. Austin Groups for the Elderly – AGE assists over 3,000 Central Texas older adults and their caregivers facing the challenges of aging with four unique programs: Elderhaven, the only licensed Adult Day Center in Central Texas, provides a safe and interactive environment for medically vulnerably seniors at both our facilities in Central Austin and Williamson County. The Caregiver Resource Center provides free referrals, information, and Durable Medical Equipment to the caregivers of older adults. Additionally, SeniorNet, a peer-to-peer senior computer literacy program, engages and connects older adults. |

| Capitol Area Metro - Capital Metro provides bus service on flexible, convenient schedules to more than 3,000 bus stops throughout Central Texas. Its fixed route bus service includes metro, flyer and express routes and shuttle service for the University of Texas. Capital MetroRail offers reliable, smooth service on weekdays between the City of Leander and Downtown Austin. Capital Metro also provides MetroAccess service for passengers with disabilities, van and carpool coordination, and freight rail service. A new service, the Access-A-Ride , a premium on-demand taxi service for passengers with disabilities is now available for eligible MetroAccess customers. | Faith in Action Caregivers – Faith in Action Caregivers offers services to help older adults maintain and improve their quality of life. With the assistance of volunteer caregivers, clients can maximize their ability to meet their own needs and to continue to live independently. Faith in Action provides transportation to medical appointments, personal business and shopping; information and referrals; errand-running for prescriptions and emergency items; handyman services; and a durable medical equipment loan closet. |

| Greater Austin Collaboration for Alzheimer’s Respite and Enrichment Services (CARES) |
| Helping the Aging, Needy and Disabled, Inc. – Helping the Aging, Needy and Disabled, Inc . provides non-medical home health care to the elderly and disabled population in Travis County. We contract with the Texas Department of Aging and Disability Services, Evercare, Amerigoup to provide Community Attendant Services, Family Care and Primary Home Care. Helping the Aging, Needy and Disabled, Inc. through our Homemaker/Personal Assistant Program provides services to the elderly and disabled that has an immediate basic needs. Funding sources for these social services are the City of Austin and The Travis County Health and Human Services. We also provide homemaker, personal care and respite care through the Area Agency on Aging. |
| Jewish Family Services – Jewish Family Service provides assessment, counseling, information and referral for older adults. We also offer a wide range of social, educational, and fitness programs at the Dell Jewish Community Campus and transportation to these programs. | Meals on Wheels and More – Meals on Wheels and More was founded in 1972 as a non-profit charitable corporation created to assist elderly and homebound people in need. Volunteers deliver hot, nutritious lunchtime meals each weekday to homebound people who can no longer prepare balanced meals for themselves. Care Managers assist clients with other life-enriching programs and services that promote independent living, including home safety repairs, grocery shopping assistance, rides to the doctor, and other services. | RSVP – The Retired and Senior Volunteer Program meets community needs by recruiting and placing older adults in volunteer positions at local nonprofit and public agencies. We’re a matchmaker between seniors who have skills to offer and the organizations that need their help. |

| Travis County Health and Human Services and Veterans Services -
provides a variety of programs and services to Travis County residents. We can help older adults and their families:
- Obtain basic needs emergency assistance (rent/mortgage, utilities, food vouchers, groceries, indigent burials, transportation, prescriptions, clothes and blankets) through the Family Support Services Division. (Travis County residents over 60 years of age are considered a priority population for FSS Division services.)
- Find volunteer opportunities through the Retired Senior Volunteer Program.
- Obtain federal veteran’s benefits to which they are are entitled. with assistance from the County’s Veterans Service Office.
