The Community Action Network, in partnership with Leadership Austin
and supported by the Greater Austin Chamber of Commerce and Granite
House designed a vehicle to begin offering a "community dialogue"
experience/presentation for organizations, businesses and faith communities.
The "community dialogue" presentation focuses on the "3E's"
of community sustainability: Economy , Social Equity and Environment
. While the dialogue highlights Austin's success as a national leader
in environmental preservation and the development of an extremely robust
economy, the focal point of the dialogue is the third E : Social Equity.
Between May and December of 1999, the group of CAN staff and volunteers
and the Leadership Austin Social Equity Action Team of the class of
1998-1999 met twice per month to write, produce and review the video
and power point presentation.
